Penelope the novel was recently released. It is adapted from the screenplay of the movie and none other than Ms. Witherspoon wrote the introduction for it and thanks to Elizabeth, we have it for your reading pleasure! Read on for Reese’s touching introduction and check out Amazon for your own copy!
I loved reading fairy tales as a child—or better yet, having them read to me—and now my daughter loves them too! The adventures of those beleaguered princesses, so often the youngest, most beautiful, and least appreciated, were magical. Fairy tales tell us who we are and how to live. That’s why they are so powerful. It’s not often that a brand-new tale appears in the world. So imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered . . . Penelope!
Sprung from the brilliantly original brain of Leslie Caveny, Penelope appeared on my desk one fine spring day. I loved the story from the moment I read it, and Penelope came to life in my imagination long before she stepped on-screen.
I have updated the video archive with eight new videos of Reese, two from the 2007 Oscar Fashion Police, thanks to Jess, and six from Reese’s guest spot on two episodes of Friends, thanks to Eric. Happy downloading ![]()
Our favorite leading lady, Ms. Reese Witherspoon, turns 31-years old today!
We launched the Birthday Project a week ago and despite the short notice, we managed to gather 60 contributions from fans from 26 different countries! Quite impressive, if I may so say myself. I want to thank everyone who sent in their lovely entries! We promise to do everything in our power to make sure that Reese herself sees them!
Well, without further ados…
Happy Birthday, Reese!
I have bought and scanned the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar for the site. The photos of Reese are divine and she looks so pretty, and the dresses she is in are so lovely. I apologise in advance for the horrible quality, I’m on a new computer and I haven’t worked out everything yet, plus I don’t have my regular software (picture #2 below was the page, the ink apparently bled through), but appreciate them for what they are – Reese! I will re-scan them whenever possible. The article is mostly about her latest fashion hits on the red carpet, with some statements on Nina Ricci’s Oscar Theyskens, those bangs, red lipstick and some really great quotes from Reese.
“The universe constantly reminds you that you’re not in control. You’re not in charge of the whole world.”
Reminder: Today is the last day of our Reese Witherspoon Birthday Project, all pending submissions have been added so if you don’t see yours or haven’t submitted one yet, please do so today! No exceptions will be made, so get them done now.
To pay tribute to the wonderful Reese Witherspoon and to celebrate her upcoming 31st birthday and the success of Walk the Line and her upcoming movies, Rendition and Penelope, Glamour Reese Witherspoon has decided to launch a Birthday Project in the honor of the hard-working actress.
The point of this project is for fans from all around the world to gather together and make a collective and creative effort to wish our favorite actress a happy birthday. We are going to put together this electronic Birthday Project that consists of your letters, poetry, fan art and photographs inspired by Reese Witherspoon; perhaps to give something back for all of the amazing films and entertainment that she has provided us throughout the years. Remember to be creative and have fun! Let’s show her that we really mean HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY!

Yay, what a great suprise! Our girl is featured on the cover of the April 2007 issue of Harper’s Bazaar – and even better, the magazine comes with two separate covers, one for the newstands and the other for subscribers. In the article Reese discusses her fabulous new style:
It wasn’t just us. The newly single actress says her appearance at the Golden Globes in January was a chic coming-out for her. “I felt like I looked different than I’ve ever looked,” Witherspoon tells April’s Harper’s Bazaar, on stands March 27.
The Oscar-winning actress and mother of two has taken some fashion hits for dowdy choices. She credits Nina Ricci designer Olivier Theyskens for the fresh look that has evolved since she and husband Ryan Phillippe split in October. “I’ve used a stylist before, but these days I’m kind of just going with Olivier’s taste.”
Also contributing to her new sleek style: closet purging. “I recently put a big pile of clothes on the floor of my closet, and I looked at a lot of the stuff and thought, ‘That’s not me at all. What was I thinking?’ (For Legally Blonde) I went through a pink phase like you wouldn’t believe. Then there was a (Italian label) Marni phase when I was doing Sweet Home Alabama that was out of control.”
