The first poster for Rendition has made is debut. You can check it out in the gallery. I have to say it’s pretty powerful, and I’m growing more and more excited to see this film.
Rendition is a thriller from director Gavin Hood. Witherspoon stars as the American wife of an Egyptian-born chemical engineer who disappears on a flight from South Africa to Washington. The woman desperately tries to track her husband down, while a CIA analyst (Jake Gyllenhaal) at a secret detention facility outside the U.S. is forced to question his assignment as he becomes party to the man’s unorthodox interrogation.
According to Indie Wire, Penelope was dropped by IFC films and is going to be released on February 2008 with another studio. Here’s an excerpt from the article:
A theatrical release of Mark Palansky’s Penelope, the Toronto ‘06 premiere starring Reese Witherspoon which had been scheduled to open this Friday, was recently dropped. With no larger-budget releases on its longterm slate, IFC is instead focusing on its emerging IFC First Take label that simultaneously releases independent and foreign language films in theaters and via cable TV video-on-demand services.
Acquired jointly by IFC Films and The Weinstein Company out of Toronto last year (with IFC handling North American theatrical distribution and TWC taking home video), Penelope was initially slated for a wide release in April but ten days before opening day, IFC publicly announced that the film had been bumped to August 17th. A Type A Films production that was financed and produced by Stone Village Pictures, the film was written by Leslie Caveny and also stars James McAvoy, Catherine O’Hara and Peter Dinklage.
In recent weeks, it became clear that IFC would not be releasing Penelope and indieWIRE has confirmed that the film’s producers are planning a February 2008 release with another company.

Rendition will see its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday, September 7, 2007. For further details and ticket information, please refer to the festival’s website.
New Line is in negotiations with Seth Gordon (The King of Kong) to direct holiday comedy Four Christmases, starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon.
The mini-major’s planning on a December production start for Four Christmases, set up at Spyglass with Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Jonathan Glickman producing. Vaughn and Witherspoon are also producing the pic, in which a couple struggle to visit all four divorced parents on Christmas Day.
Script’s penned by the writing team of Matt Allen and Caleb Wilson. New Line execs are hopeful they can get Four Christmases into theaters during next year’s holiday season.

As promised, Glamour Reese Witherspoon has provided you with high quality scans of Reese’s awesome cover & spread in the August 24th issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine. In the article they state Reese will begin Four Christimases in the Winter, and next year the longly delayed Our Family Trouble (aka Bell Witch). Regular visitors will know that Our Family Trouble has been on and off since late 2005. Four Christmases, in which Reese would co-star alongside Vince Vaugn was just recently annouced in July.
Also an interesting mention in the article, Rendition co-producer Mark Martin says he initially had actress Cate Blanchett in mind for the role of Isabella El-Ibrahim, but Steve Golin, one of the producing partners, says he saw Reese in the role right away. He said “The movie is about somebody you love disapearing, and Reese is such a beloved actress – she’s such a girl-next-door type, only more beautiful – it makes what she goes through more relatable.” Wouldn’t you agree? There was also a new movie still from Rendition in the piece. Happy viewing!
I’ve brought the site’s content up-to-date today. Most notably, I’ve updated Causes & Charities with information on Reese’s role as a Avon Global Ambassador, added some quotes from her new Entertainment Weekly article and included information about Four Christmases on the Rumored Projects section.
Ms. Witherspoon graces the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, which is the Fall Movie Preview 2007 special. The photoshoot and interview are brand new and Reese looks absolutely gorgeous!
We will have HQ scans of the magazine shortly. Meanwhile, check out a behind the scenes video of the photoshoot, as well as its caps . Reese also chats about her role in Rendition and working with co-stars Peter Sarsgaard and Meryl Streep.
Very small update, but Reese has quieted back down so I thought it was worth mentioning. I made scans from the Glamour which we previously reported about and Angie made a scan from the InStyle UK, both are September issues.
If you know of anymore magazines Ms. Witherspoon is featured in, don’t hestiate to alert us! We’ll do our best to get the issues to make scans.
Bad news – Penelope has been delayed again. The film was originally supposed to be released this April, then the studio pushed it back to August 17, which now has been pulled to an unknown release date. No word on when the new release is, but hopefully we’ll hear something soon! I know we’ve been itching to see this film for such a long time already.
In the September issue of Glamour magazine, Reese along with a bevy of beauties including Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Julia Stiles, are photographed for the ‘Superstars Beauty Secrets’ piece. Glamour goes behind the scenes to get tips that you can then use for yourself from the pros who transform Hollywood’s A-list ladies! You can view the tips to get Reese’s gorgeous natural glow on the official site. The magazine is on stands now and we hope to get a full scan of this soon.
One thing Molly R. Stern adores about Reese Witherspoon: “She’s not the neurotic, ‘Oh, I have a broken capillary!’ girl – she’s comfortable with herself and isn’t putting on makeup to look like somebody else,” says the CoverGirl celeb makeup artist. That realness was apparent the night Witherspoon, 31, won her Oscar. “Former winners kept coming up to congratulate her, and she’d get excited like a 13-year-old – she’s not jaded.” Reese, currently starring with Christina Ricci in the dramedy Penelope, bonded with Stern on a shoot 11 years ago. “Someone had zipped a large portion of my hip skin into a pair of leather pants,” says Witherspoon. “I didn’t even know Molly, and she immediately jumped to my rescue, started telling jokes, wiped my tears, rubbed my hands and made me look flawless.” Today they’re full-on friends. “Whenever my kids are sick, Reese is the first person I call, because she’s had hers longer, is a total know-it-all and likes to help people,” says Stern. Another perk: “She gives me lots of shoes; we wear the same size!”
