Despite the very unfortunate recent events here at Glamour Reese Witherspoon, we wish you a happy Halloween and hope you’re all having tons of fun!
Pictured: Reese with Jake Gyllenhaal and Marc Jacobs at Kate Hudson’s Halloween party last Saturday.
I’ve added three videos featuring Reese at the Rome Film Festival. The Sky Life video is especially a must see. There’s a brief interview, where Reese talks about Rendition and her stunning Nina Ricci dress.
Okay, we would never normally post and ask for donations but this is an emergency. Mycah, fellow Glamour Reese Witherspoon webmaster, is in a horrible situation right now. Her house burned down earlier this week and she really needs our help. If you enjoy her work on this site and can spare anything at all, please consider donating. She is okay but her family lost their home and all possessions and they have no place to stay. You can read about the incident here. If you can help at all, Mycah’s PayPal address is email@example.com. I’m sure that any donations will be more than appreciated.
Michael Sheen will host the 16th annual BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Awards at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel on Nov 1.
Kathy Bates, Pierce Brosnan, Helen Fielding, Jodie Foster, Famke Janssen, Bill Nighy and Reese Witherspoon all will present awards at the event.
As previously announced, Denzel Washington will be given the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, and Kate Winslet will be given the Brittania Award for British Artist of the Year.
BAFTA/LA, founded in California in 1987, is meant to serve as a bridge between the American and British entertainment communities.
As promised, I’ve added the videos of Reese’s appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Today Show. Both are good fun and Ellen especially is a must-see! Enjoy!
A lot of new visitors have been checking out Glamour Reese Witherspoon recently. We hope you enjoy the site and our many features. Please remember that this site focuses on Reese’s career, not her private life, hence we do not post gossip/trashy articles nor stalkerazzi pictures. 😉
I’ve added screencaptures from Reese’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show appearance, which aired yesterday. It was such a fun interview, Reese being her giggly and bouncy self, bringing Ellen treats once again and the talk show host returning the favor. Reese discussed Rendition, Halloween (and showed a pic of her in last year’s awesome costume!) and her work with Children’s Defense Fund. Apologies for the low quality of the caps but I wanted to get them up as soon as possible. Hopefully we’ll have better ones to replace with later.
I also added screencaps from last week’s The Today Show. I’ll try my best to add videos from both appearances tonight. Sorry about the delay, I’ve simply been insanely busy with university this week!
And last but not least, Rendition is currently #3 in the UK box office! Yay! It seems to be doing really well here. The showing that I went to was fully booked and I personally thought the film was pretty good. So don’t believe the negative reviews and go and see Rendition yourself! Reese does a great job!
Dressed in a wine red short number, Reese Witherspoon stole the spotlight at the Rendition premiere in Rome. 21 first pictures have been added from today’s event.
Reese is currently in Rome, Italy to promote Rendition alongside director Gavin Hood and co-star Jake Gyllenhaal. They attended the press conference just a few moments ago and she looks super cute! I’ve added the first images for your viewing pleasure. Read on for a reportage on what Reese, Jake and Gavin had to say about the film.
Hailing from a country where an apartheid-era state death squad operated under the name Civil Co-operation Bureau, South African film maker Gavin Hood strips away at another sinister euphemism in his latest movie Rendition.
Speaking at a news conference at the Rome Film Festival where the film screened Sunday, Hood said: “Extraordinary renditions, enhanced interrogation – these are just fancy words. We wanted to put a human face to these abstract ideas.”

DreamWorks-Paramount suffered its second box office disappointment this month with the debut of awards hopeful Things We Lost in the Fire, which couldn’t crack the top ten films of the weekend. Reese’s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, October 23. You can check out Ellen’s site for a fun little preview. Stay tuned for caps and clips from this as well as yesterday’s The Today Show!
We have added a new layout to celebrate the release of Rendition. Like the previous design, this one was also created by our very own Mycah. As much as we loved the previous one, we felt like the site needed a change. This time we wanted to go for something less dark and more girly and fun and this layout certainly is all of that. Mycah used the new Elle images and I think did them perfect justice. We hope you enjoy this new layout as much as we do. Also if you have no already noticed you can now subscribe to Glamour Reese Witherspoon‘s news/RSS feeds. Look forward to more site changes in the near future!
Actress’s all-American appeal helps film get message across, director says
Before her latest film, if anyone had asked Reese Witherspoon what the term “extraordinary rendition” meant, she might have answered with a blank stare.
The words could be bureaucratese for something as innocuous as a tax deduction. But as Witherspoon’s Rendition spells out darkly and melodramatically, the term actually stands for a U.S. government practice of transferring terrorism suspects to other countries, where their interrogations could subject them to abuse and torture.
“I don’t think I realized what the term was called,” Witherspoon told The Associated Press at September’s Toronto International Film Festival, where Rendition played in advance of its theatrical release Friday. “The term is not really in the popular vernacular.
“It sounds like public-policy rigmarole. It doesn’t sound like anything that you would connect with the torture and detainment of innocent people.”
