Here is fantastic interview with Reese and the cast mates of Rendition Press Conference from Movies.About.com. Although spoiler phoebes be warned! It does contain quite a few things you may not wish to know just yet! There is a cut off point, so if you’re wanting to remain spoiler free do not read past it, or heck just wait until you’ve seen the film and come back for this one, it will be here.
The term ‘extraordinary rendition’ refers to the U S government’s policy of secretly abducting foreign nationals who are viewed as national security threats and placing them in overseas prisons in order to ‘interrogate’ them. The film Rendition follows an Egyptian-American businessman who’s placed into custody upon arriving back in the US from a business trip and taken to North Africa to be questioned – and tortured. Director Gavin Hood and the film’s stars Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Igal Naor, and Omar Metwally took part in a press conference in Los Angeles to discuss their involvement in the dramatic movie.
Reese and Jake, why do you think people would want to see a movie about this policy?
Reese Witherspoon: “Why wouldn’t they?”
Why would they?
Gavin Hood: “I think your answer was good: why wouldn’t they?”

A clip of HBO’s First Look of Rendition can now be downloaded from or video archives as well as you can view screencaptures in the gallery. Happy downloading!
“Two Sides of a Story: The Making of Rendition” is a 12-minute documentary on the film, which features interviews with director Gavin Hood and it’s cast of Peter Sarsgaard, Jake Gyllenhaal, Meryl Streep and Reese. It included a lot of new scenes and behind-the-scenes footage too.
There is an additional exclusive photograph of Reese in the October 19th edition (The Photo Issue) of Entertainment Weekly magazine. I have made a scan for this site, as well as added the oh-so-amazing outtakes of this set. Enjoy!
The photographer decided against using props and stagey setups for this portrait, relying instead on minimal lighting and natural poses to capture the actress’ personality. “She has courage, takes risks, and is also very talented,” he says “And I think, in a way, she conveys that through the photographs she takes.” – Photographer James White
What’s a nice girl like Reese Witherspoon doing mixed up with government-sanctioned kidnapping and torture?
“I think it’s really easy to think about (awful) things in the abstract,” says the Oscar-winning actress of her role in the new movie Rendition, “but when you have an emotional, human experience that connects you to the people affected by these things, it can really change your perception about whether or not they’re … ethical? Constitutional? Certainly it raises awareness about (extraordinary) rendition and whether or not it is those things.”
Despite looking a little tired on another day of publicity at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, she appears every inch the gracious, well-mannered woman of Southern upbringing she is reputed to be. Witherspoon shot to the top of the box office rankings with her two “Legally Blonde” films (in which she played Elle Woods) and a handful of romantic comedies that polished her all-American-girl image. Not to be pigeonholed, however, she followed those with her widely lauded turn as June Carter in the drama about Johnny Cash, Walk the Line. Defying social expectations of women has been a theme of the Nashville native’s life and career.

I’ve updated the Rendition premiere album with additional HQs. I made an exception this time because the pics are so cute! We are working on a total gallery revamp and I do not have the time to upload images to two different galleries. So I’ve recently added less pictures than usual. Anyway, it will probably take a long time for us to finish up the revamp but it is coming, slowly but surely.
Ms Witherspoon attended the Los Angeles premiere of Rendition yesterday. She looks as gorgeous as ever in a black strapless Nina Ricci dress and nude peep-toes. I especially love the earrings, which perfectly emphasize Reese stunning blue eyes! Check out the 54 first pics in the gallery.
Follow the cut for a related article from USA Today.
At Wednesday’s Rendition premiere, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal offered no clues as to their current status: Friends? Lovers? Former either?
The two did not share eye contact on the red carpet and came together only briefly at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences theater to flank their director, Gavin Hood, for a quick photo before once again going their separate ways.

Nearly all the pieces of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe’s divorce are in order. Except, that is, for the divorce itself.
The former golden couple’s union was officially terminated last Friday, with the Los Angeles Superior Court reinstating the camera-ready twosome’s right to remarry. (View the court documents.)
Though the dissolution of marriage has been formalized, signed off on by none other than Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon, who’s currently preocuppied with Britney Spears’ legal woes, the court still must finalize the divorce, as financial and custody arrangements over their children—daughter Ava, 8, and son Deacon, 3—have yet to be hammered out.

I have finally finished the HQ scans of the October issue of Elle magazine. You can view the scans in the gallery. This is one of the more funner articles published about Reese. Enjoy!
Riikka and I have been adding pictures of the Rendition press conference that was held September 30th in Beverly Hills. Reese looks absolutely adorable as always! Check them out here.
Rendition will be presented out of competition at the Rome Film Festival in Italy on October 21, 2007. Reese herself is expected to be in attendance. Please refer to the fest’s website for further details.
