Today I have added screencaps from Reese’s 1998 movie Twilight, in which she played Mel. She only had a very small role, but she was her usual sassy self, and it must’ve been an amazing experience for working alongside Susan Sarandon, Paul Newman and Gene Hackman. Plus, the movie is very ‘old Hollywood’ and unlike anything she’s ever done, either before or since then. It goes without saying that I enjoyed her scenes, and really liked what she bought to them, especially seeing her character development.
Some of the screencaptures do contain slightly nudity, so please be aware they may not be suitable for all viewers.
“This Means War,” Fox’s comedy-action film starring Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hardy, will keep its R rating, the MPAA’s appeals board ruled Thursday.
Fox had asked the Motion Picture Association of America’s Classification and Rating Appeals Board to give McG’s movie a less-restrictive rating.
After hearing statements from Ted Gagliano, president of feature post production for Twentieth Century Fox and from Joan Graves, who chairs the Classification and Rating Administration, the board upheld the R.
The board ruled that the movie has “some sexual content” — enough to give it an R.
For an appeal to be successful, two-thirds of the board must vote that the rating is “clearly erroneous.”
The board reviews between 800 and 900 movies each year. Usually, fewer than 12 are appealed.
Fox did not immediately return a call and email seeking comment.
“This Means War” is about two CIA operatives who become enemies when they find out they’re both dating the same woman.

Dumas, Ark. seldom gets attention in national news, but when two A-List celebrities come into town, Arkansas gets its name on the map. When Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey came to town, people were wondering if the world was coming to an end. Luckily, it’s not, and the two were in town to shoot a movie called “Mud.”
Jeff Nichols, a native award-winning Arkansan, brings his next feature to Southeast Arkansas. The movie was filmed in the areas of Dumas, Dewitt and Stuttgart.
The cast and crew only shot in Arkansas for two weeks, but that was enough time to get people buzzing about “Mud.”
Area residents had the opportunity to participate in the film as extras and stand-ins. They needed residents to play high school teens. The movie asked people who were teenagers between 16 and 20 years old to participate in the movie as extras.
Dumas was thrilled to hear that a movie was to be filmed featuring parts of the town, especially one starring Reese Witherspoon.
The financial benefits defiantly outweighed the inconvenience in the street closings and local business closings. Multiple businesses were paid for the use of their store fronts, parking lots and the entirety of buildings.
The world premiere of This Means War will be held at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on February 8th! Reese will most likely be in attendance, along with her co-stars Tom Hardy and Chris Pine. We can’t wait to see the photos, and will of course be bringing you lots of coverage here the day after.
Interesting tidbit about this: Reese’s friend Kate Hudson was attached to star in this project many years ago.
Filming is scheduled to begin in the Spring.
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds will play Margaret and Walter Keane in an indie biopic about the couple whose art — especially paintings of doe-eyed children — became a pop phenomenon in the 1950s and 1960s.
While their art was reproduced and marketed around the country, their home life was unhappy: Margaret Keane was the artist, but her husband took credit. In fact, it carried Walter Keane’s name, rather than the shy Margaret’s.
When the two divorced, both claimed rights to the paintings. Ultimately — in federal court — Margaret Keane painted a picture to prove that she was, in fact the artist. When the judge asked Walter Keane to paint, he declined, saying his sore shoulder prevented him from painting.
The judge found for Margaret Keane.
Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski wrote and will direct the film. Tim Burton is producing through his Tim Burton Productions. Lynette Howell and Jamie Patricof are producing through their Electric City Entertainment.

Alexander and Karaszewski know their biopics: They wrote “Ed Wood,” “The People vs. Larry Flint” and Andy Kaufman biopic “Man on the Moon.”
With Burton, they’re working on a new version of “The Addams Family.”
“Big Eyes” has been on Alexander and Karaszewski’s to-do list since at least 2009.

Witherspoon stars in the McG-directed comedy-action film as a seductive female dating two of the world’s deadliest CIA operatives (played by Chris Pine and Tom Hardy) whose partnership and friendship is put in jeopardy when they begin to battle for her affections. Instead of ‘fessing up to her about the love triangle, they try to settle the matter using all the weapons at their disposal.
The film also stars one of Witherspoon’s real-life pals, comedian and “Chelsea Lately” host Chelsea Handler, who gives Reese’s character the terrible advice that she should continue dating both men.
After positive word-of-mouth during test screenings, Twentieth Century Fox pushed the movie’s release date up by three days to Valentine’s Day (February 14). “After all,” said director McG, “everyone needs a little action on Valentine’s Day.”
Everybody loves Reese Witherspoon, right? Well, almost everybody.
“You know, Chelsea. I’m super excited to give you your award tonight. These guys did an amazing job,” the Oscar winner tells Chelsea Handler after collaborating with the Chelsea Lately staffers on a speech she’s going to give at a Women in Television event.
“Ooh, that reminds me, I made a little something to say thank you for all your hard work. I’ll be right back,” says Reese.
“Oh my God, she’s driving me crazy,” moans Chelsea after the actress has left the room. “You guys were right the last time. She is so awful.”
“What are you talking about?” asks show writer Heather McDonald. “Reese is like a little slice of wonderful.”
“No, she’s like a big slice of pain in my ass,” snaps Chelsea. “I should have asked Rosie O’Donnell to present me with my award. She’s a mess.”
Looks like we’ll get to enjoy This Means War a few days early! The studio have moved the films release date forward to Valentine’s Day (from February 17th), thanks to “outstanding test screenings and strong word of mouth”.
Twentieth Century Fox has bumped up action comedy “This Means War” to coincide with Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
Pic, which stars Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon, originally was slated to bow three days later, but Fox moved the pic to benefit from the holiday’s increased couples turnout.
“Starting Valentine’s Day, we’re making ‘War,’ not love,” quipped Fox prexy of domestic distribution Bruce Snyder. “This is a picture that has it all — humor, charm, wit and action — and it plays through the roof.”
In the film, Pine and Hardy play best friend CIA operatives, who fall for the same woman (Witherspoon). “War” is directed McG, from a script by Timothy Dowling and Simon Kinberg.
The holiday can be a big moviegoing day for romantic comedies. Last year, Sony’s “Just Go With It” won Valentine’s Day B.O., while Warner Bros.’s timely release “Valentine’s Day” broke records over the holiday in 2010.
“War” recently received an R rating for “some sexual content,” though Fox plans to appeal to the Motion Picture Assn. of America’s Classification and Rating Administration board.
