As we reported earlier, Reese Witherspoon was a special guest at the sixth annual Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Washington, D.C. this weekend, cheering on and joining walkers on their second day and participating in the celebratory and inspirational Closing Ceremony. At the Ceremony, Reese joined the family, friends and supporters of 3,500 participants in celebrating $8.1 million raised for local, regional and national breast cancer organizations. The women and men in the weekend-long Avon Walk Washington, D.C. hailed from 40 states and included nearly 300 breast cancer survivors. Way to go Reese! I truly never get tired of reporting on these kinds of news, it’s so great to see someone in the industry giving back like this. And she looked uber cute! Reese said: “I am very excited to be partnering with the Avon Foundation and to help them continue to affect real change, I feel a great responsibility in my own life to give back to society. As the Honorary Chairman of the Avon Foundation, one of my first experiences last year was to meet Avon Walk walkers at a training walk in Los Angeles. Now I am proud to support the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer here in Washington, D.C. and hope my presence can in some measure express my deep appreciation for all the women and men who participate in the Avon Walks, and for all of the people who dedicate their lives to breast cancer research and care.”
They said: “During the past year, Reese has been a champion for the Avon Foundation’s commitment to women, and now she has lent her support to our Avon Walk participants in DC. We are excited that Reese has been able to meet in person the dedicated women and men who are raising funds, and the researchers and organizations that are using those funds to save lives.”

You can bring home Christina Ricci like you’ve never seen her (or her nose) before this July. Penelope is coming to DVD on July 15. We have no cover art for this release yet, but the disc will be priced at $25.99. This will be available for Region 1.
The Special Features will include a Behind-the-scenes featurette and something I’m a little fangirly excited about, a sneak peek at the Summit Entertainment’s upcoming adaptation of Twilight which stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
The Avon Foundation announced that Reese Witherspoon will be a special guest at the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Washington, DC on Sunday, May 4, 2008, the second day of the weekend-long event. Witherspoon, the Avon Global Ambassador and Honorary Chair of the Avon Foundation, will spend time throughout the day with the thousands of Walk participants, including walkers, crew and volunteers, who are raising lifesaving funds and awareness to advance access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer. In addition to spending time with the Walk participants, Witherspoon will play a special role in the inspirational Closing Ceremony, during which new DC-area grants will be announced, and she will meet with local Avon Foundation-funded breast cancer organizations to learn firsthand the impact of the funds raised.
“We are thrilled to have Reese join us for the Avon Walk DC,” said Avon Foundation Executive Director Carol Kurzig. “During the past year, Reese has been a champion for the Avon Foundation’s commitment to women. Also another bit of news, I just caught her first commercial for Avon tonight it was from this day of filming. I will try to catch it and record, but obviously that really is just a game of luck as there is no way of knowing when it will air. Just a heads up that the ads are now airing in addition to print ads! The Avon catalog features Reese as well. I will do my best to get a subscription to this.
On April 14th, Reese attended the Poppy Store Opening to Benefit Stuart House and she looked super gorgeous in a pretty pink and red dress. She looked ultra feminine in one of our favorite looks in a long time! Check out some pictures from the event in the gallery.

Things are a bit quiet again but I have discovered a new ad for Avon amungst the pages of a fashion magazine, so it’s evident the ads are now appearing and if you come across any we don’t have don’t hesitate to scan it for us or let us know which mag its in!
PS: We are still in the process of trying to get the Idol Gives Back special for the site. We will post clips and caps as soon as we manage to get it.

The extended DVD edition of Walk the Line is releasing today, and you can pick up your own copy at your local store or via Amazon.com. The DVD is packed with some new features and scenes, here is an article about the disc. Be sure to check it out and witness Reese Witherspoon’s award winning performance in a new light (or for the first time)!

Reese Witherspoon turned 32 on March 22nd. On behalf of all of her fans, Glamour Reese Witherspoon extends it’s warmest wishes to Reese and hope she had a fantastic birthday amongst her loved ones!
Reese Witherspoon along with other celebrity participants is scheduled to appear on the American Idol Fundraiser Special Idol Gives Back on Wednesday, April 9 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Thanks to Elizabeth for the news!
Idol Gives Back is a music celebration raising awareness and benefiting various U.S. and international charities. This year’s event will be bigger and more ambitious than ever, and will feature incredible international talent including Bono, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Fergie, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, Annie Lennox, John Legend and Snoop Dogg. Additional artists scheduled to appear to be announced.
The star-studded evening will echo the success of last year’s Idol Gives Back, which raised over $76 million for various U.S. charities that deliver support to underprivileged children in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the country, providing them with medical care, food and grocery products, health and life skills and literacy programs, among other important initiatives. In Africa, funds were dedicated to organizations that support efforts to battle poverty through various health and education programs, including delivering medical supplies and providing clean water.

Yesterday Reese made an appearance on The Today Show, she was there to discuss her partnering with Avon and the new Women’s Empowerment Bracelet. A video download and captures have been added, as well as some snaps of her arriving outside the studio.
