We have added a new layout to celebrate the release of Rendition. Like the previous design, this one was also created by our very own Mycah. As much as we loved the previous one, we felt like the site needed a change. This time we wanted to go for something less dark and more girly and fun and this layout certainly is all of that. Mycah used the new Elle images and I think did them perfect justice. We hope you enjoy this new layout as much as we do. Also if you have no already noticed you can now subscribe to Glamour Reese Witherspoon‘s news/RSS feeds. Look forward to more site changes in the near future!
Actress’s all-American appeal helps film get message across, director says
Before her latest film, if anyone had asked Reese Witherspoon what the term “extraordinary rendition” meant, she might have answered with a blank stare.
The words could be bureaucratese for something as innocuous as a tax deduction. But as Witherspoon’s Rendition spells out darkly and melodramatically, the term actually stands for a U.S. government practice of transferring terrorism suspects to other countries, where their interrogations could subject them to abuse and torture.
“I don’t think I realized what the term was called,” Witherspoon told The Associated Press at September’s Toronto International Film Festival, where Rendition played in advance of its theatrical release Friday. “The term is not really in the popular vernacular.
“It sounds like public-policy rigmarole. It doesn’t sound like anything that you would connect with the torture and detainment of innocent people.”

Most of us fans have been waiting for a long time for a new Reese movie and finally the day is upon us as Rendition hits the cinemas today, in North America and UK! Sadly the reviews have more or less all been negative / mixed but Reese is our favorite leading lady and I’m sure we will all be very happy to see a new movie from her. So be sure to head out and support her! You can also leave your comments regarding Rendition and Reese’s performance here.
And don’t forget that Reese will be on The Today Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show today!
Update: It looks like Reese’s appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show has been canceled as Jessica Alba will be on today instead of Ms. Witherspoon. Check out Ellen’s site for more information.
Reese Witherspoon made her first film, The Man In The Moon, aged 14. Last year, she won an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk The Line and later separated from her husband Ryan Phillippe. Her new film Rendition is about the transfer and harsh interrogation of US non-citizens in countries where they are suspected of terrorism.
Did Meryl Streep’s involvement in this film help attract you to the project?
Of course. I was nervous the day I had to work with her. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to do it but she was wonderful. She’s completely intimidating, completely professional and had a thousand ideas – but as soon as you cut, she’s the nicest, warmest, funniest person.
Who else has intimidated you on set?
Matthew Broderick when I did Election. I’d grown up watching his films and always thought he was so funny. He had that wonderful wry comic wit. I was more scared to meet Matthew than anyone I’ve ever worked with. He was an icon and I had a crush on him when I was little. I used to think he was so cute.
Did you tell him?
Of course not! And I certainly never told his wife.
Have you ever felt prejudice in your own life, as you and your husband do in Rendition?
Yes, when I went to Stanford University when I was 19. I’d already done several films and I really felt this prejudice against me because I was an actress. Some of the students thought I’d only got in there because I was an actress but I applied the same way as everyone else under my real name, which is not the same as my acting name.

JoBlo.com is reporting that Reese is in talks to star in another romantic comedy:
Roger Michell (Notting Hill) has signed on to direct the JJ Abrams produced romantic comedy Morning Glory. Paramount recently paid big bucks for rights to the script, which was written by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada).
The film follows a faltering morning news producer who recruits an iconic but difficult anchorman, who sadly isn’t Ron Burgandy, to revive the ratings of her “Today”-like show. In talks to star in the film are Reese Witherspoon and Harrison Ford, who will play Captain Kirk.
Oh wait, that’s that other JJ Abrams movie. Abrams, despite only making his feature directorial debut on M:I:III, has become a force in Hollywood producing a number of high profile projects including Cloverfield/1-18-08 and the upcoming Star Trek “reboot,” which he will also direct.
Filming on Morning Glory is scheduled to begin this fall.

I’ve updated the Rendition premiere album with additional HQs. I made an exception this time because the pics are so cute! We are working on a total gallery revamp and I do not have the time to upload images to two different galleries. So I’ve recently added less pictures than usual. Anyway, it will probably take a long time for us to finish up the revamp but it is coming, slowly but surely.
Ms Witherspoon attended the Los Angeles premiere of Rendition yesterday. She looks as gorgeous as ever in a black strapless Nina Ricci dress and nude peep-toes. I especially love the earrings, which perfectly emphasize Reese stunning blue eyes! Check out the 54 first pics in the gallery.

At Wednesday’s Rendition premiere, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal offered no clues as to their current status: Friends? Lovers? Former either?
The two did not share eye contact on the red carpet and came together only briefly at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences theater to flank their director, Gavin Hood, for a quick photo before once again going their separate ways.

Nearly all the pieces of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe’s divorce are in order. Except, that is, for the divorce itself.
The former golden couple’s union was officially terminated last Friday, with the Los Angeles Superior Court reinstating the camera-ready twosome’s right to remarry. (View the court documents.)
Though the dissolution of marriage has been formalized, signed off on by none other than Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon, who’s currently preocuppied with Britney Spears’ legal woes, the court still must finalize the divorce, as financial and custody arrangements over their children—daughter Ava, 8, and son Deacon, 3—have yet to be hammered out.
