Ms Witherspoon attended the Los Angeles premiere of Rendition yesterday. She looks as gorgeous as ever in a black strapless Nina Ricci dress and nude peep-toes. I especially love the earrings, which perfectly emphasize Reese stunning blue eyes! Check out the 54 first pics in the gallery.

Follow the cut for a related article from USA Today.

At Wednesday’s Rendition premiere, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal offered no clues as to their current status: Friends? Lovers? Former either?

The two did not share eye contact on the red carpet and came together only briefly at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences theater to flank their director, Gavin Hood, for a quick photo before once again going their separate ways.

Would anyone out there be able to create a video clip of this? It would be greatly appreciated!

Reese Witherspoon is sitting on a dais in a ritzy Beverly Hills hotel with Jake Gyllenhaal and some of the other stars from her latest film, Rendition, along with the director, Gavin Hood. They’re answering questions about the film, a dramatic thriller about one of the most controversial aspects of the “war on terror”, the practice of “extraordinary rendition”. That’s the heavily criticised procedure used by the CIA to secrete suspected terrorists to countries such as Egypt and Morocco, where they can be interrogated – and tortured – without being subject to US law.

Witherspoon plays the wife of an American-Egyptian chemical engineer who disappears after boarding a flight from Cape Town. She gradually learns that her husband is suspected of being a terrorist, and has been “rendered” by the CIA to a North African country, evidently Morocco. Jake Gyllenhaal plays the CIA analyst charged with overseeing her husband’s interrogation, who becomes troubled by the morality of what he and the US government are doing.

As they answer questions, I find I’m not really listening. I am transfixed by Witherspoon, whom I am going to be meeting in person in a few minutes. She’s the only woman on the panel of six, and, even at a distance, her very blonde hair and very blue eyes, sitting within exquisitely tiny features, are quite mesmerising among the heavy-set, dark-haired men up there. It’s incredibly hard to grasp that this tiny creature, who looks as fragile as a miniature porcelain doll, is by far the most successful, most powerful and best-paid person in the room.

MoviesOnline features a fabulous Rendition interview with Reese, Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, which includes all kinds of interesting things about the flick.

MoviesOnline caught up recently with director Gavin Hood (Tsotsi) and the cast of Rendition at the Los Angeles Press Conference to promote their new film. Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Igal Naor, Meryl Streep, Peter Sarsgaard and Alan Arkin star in this edgy and thought-provoking thriller about an Egyptian-born chemical engineer, Anwar El-Ibrahimi (Omar Metwally), who disappears on a flight from South Africa to Washington.

First things first, there is a new release date for Rendition, the previously reported October 12 seems to have been false. However the film will hit US and UK cinemas just a week later on October 19! We’re sorry for the mix up. To find on when the film will come to your country visit IMDb.com.

The official film website is now online and active in case you missed it, so be sure to visit www.renditionmovie.com – there you can download desktops, screensavers, get film info and more. There are never before seen photos of Reese’s character so I have taken screenshots of the site and added them to the gallery for your viewing pleasure. Last but not least, Yahoo! Movies has an exclusive clip which features Reese as Isabella El-Ibrahim. Captures are also available. The scene makes me grow even more excited for the film!

As you all know we do not post candid shots of Miss Witherspoon out of respect, however we do post on set film images if Reese doesn’t appear uncomfortable and we simply could not resist posting these gorgeous pictures of Reese looking lovely filming her first commercial for Avon! As we know, Reese was made the first Avon Global Ambassador earlier this year. Judging from these pics alone, I personally can’t wait to see the ad and I’m sure you will all agree. Enjoy!

The delightfully titled Tokyo Suckerpunch, which Tobey Maguire has been developing as producer and star for two years with screenwriter Ed Solomon (Men in Black) and producers Lucy Fisher and Doug Wick (Memoirs of a Geisha), has also recently picked up momentum. Now it looks like the movie — a romantic comedy/action/modern noir hybrid that uses live-action and anime — will reunite Maguire with Pleasantville costar Reese Witherspoon and writer-director Gary Ross, who also directed him in Seabiscuit.

“One of the most attractive things about it is that it combines anime with live action,” says Ross, who mixed black-and- white and color footage as a thematic device in Pleasantville, his 1998 directorial debut. “It presents a lot of stylistic opportunities in how you shoot the live action so that it works harmonically.”

Actor Reese Witherspoon thinks Toronto is the perfect place to launch Rendition, a lacerating political thriller about the disappearance and torture of a man who is victimized by the CIA.

“It’s pretty exciting,” Witherspoon told Sun Media yesterday before Rendition – a possible Oscar contender this year – made its world premiere as a Gala at the 32nd Toronto International Film Festival.

“I think the Toronto film festival is always great for films that are filmmaker-driven and have a real idea behind them,” she said, suppressing a nagging cough but never complaining. “There are so many great tastemakers here, people who really enjoy film, people who really appreciate what we are trying to get out, what we are trying to reveal.”

In 2005, Toronto also launched Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash biopic that generated a best actress Oscar for her.

Now a seasoned veteran of Hollywood at 31, Witherspoon also knows how to keep on topic and maintain her privacy. She deftly demonstrated that yesterday when one question bumped into persistent rumours that she and co-star Jake Gyllenhaal became romantically involved on the film (she is now a single mom who is divorcing husband Ryan Phillippe).
