Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy form a hilariously dangerous love triangle in their new action-comedy This Means War, and they’re sharing some laughs about their new spy vs. spy movie with ET special guest correspondent Katherine Schwarzenegger.
So, who is the better kisser? “Obviously I am,” brags Tom. “I just answered that, and we’ll move on to the next [question]. There’s no argument.”
“Yeah, let’s get on with it, I don’t want to fight it,” smiles Chris.
As for prepping for those kissing scenes, Tom advises, “Altoids. You gotta have an Altoid. That’s the standard form, yeah.”
“I thought it was tuna sandwiches,” replies Reese.
“That’s like an immediate pre-game [strategy],” jests Chris. “Egg salad, onions.”
In theaters Valentine’s Day, This Means War finds dangerous CIA operatives Chris and Tom, inseparable partners and best friends, falling independently for Reese. But when they discover that they’re vying for the affections of same girl, all bets are off – and may the best man win!
The DailyMail.co.uk have posted some preview photos and quotes from Reese’s interview with Graham Norton, which will air here in the UK tomorrow night. Reese talks about her recent car accident, and the reason behind her new fringe…
Many Hollywood stars get a fringe for a new look or to give a more youthful appearance.
But Reese Witherspoon admitted she decided to cut her hair after she was left with a scar following a road accident in September.
The Oscar winner ended up with a cut on her forehead and a black eye after she was knocked down by a pensioner’s vehicle while jogging.
The mother-of-two, 35, recalled the accident in Santa Monica during an interview on tomorrow nights’ Graham Norton Show.
Assuring Norton she had totally recovered following the ‘particularly un-showbizzy’ incident, she said: ‘I was jogging and I got hit by a car, it’s not funny at all.
‘They said I am very hard headed because I landed right on my head and I have a scar, hence my new hairdo.
‘I don’t remember much about it but miraculously and thank God I am fine.’
Witherspoon refused to press charges against the 85-year-old driver, who was cited by police for failing to stop for a pedestrian.
However, the actress joked the pensioner was now using a bus instead.
She added: ‘She was 85 so they took away her licence and gave her a
Reese’s new UK Glamour magazine cover hits newsstands today, and to promote the occassion, some photos and quotes from the spread have been posted online! Below are the quotes released, and you can find the photos in our Gallery – Reese looks absolutely beautiful!
“Once I turned 35 I felt so much better but the anticipation leading up to it was miserable. It was less, ‘How do I look?’ and more, ‘What do I want to accomplish in life? Is this the career I love? Is this the legacy I want to leave for my kids?’”
“A lot of women who go through different things – like going through a divorce or whatever – talk to me and I always say, ‘You’re going to get through this. I know that sounds simple, but you really are. You’re going to be a different person, but you’ll be a better person.’ You have to look at all sides of everything – really look at your own behaviour. And be clear about the sort of person you want to be. And write it all down. I wish I’d written down more. All these life experiences. The good and the bad – all those feelings,”
“I’m not for it. I’m not against it. I have plenty of friends who do stuff and if it makes you feel good, great. But I don’t think it’s the fix for some sort of unease that you’re having about who you are as a human being. I don’t think I need plastic surgery at this point. Can we just go day-by-day on that one?”
The mother-of-two revealed she works out for an hour five days a week, doing yoga, spinning or running and admitted she has adjusted her diet to keep in shape.
Reese said: “”I don’t worry about it. I have the body I earned. I had two kids and I’m still strong and healthy.
“And you start to have a different respect for your body the older you get. Instead of tearing yourself apart all the time, you start to go ‘Oh wow’.”
“I have this fixation about this black leather The Row purse, but it’s so prohibitively expensive, I will not allow myself to buy it. I literally go to the store to visit it. Too much money – it feels decadent. I can’t wrap my brain around it. If I bought it, I’d only feel upset about it and take it back.”
McG believes the most crucial part of directing a movie is getting the casting right.
The filmmaker is currently promoting his new movie This Means War, which stars Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine.
The director explained why the romantic action movie needed a cast of strong actors to make it work.
This Means War tells the story of two best friends, who happen to be top secret agents. When they find out that they are in love with the same woman, they battle each other with high-tech surveillance and advanced tactics to win her affections.
“I believe that 90 percent of directing is casting, so I wanted to get together a group of talented people and you’ve got Chris and you’ve got Tom and you’ve got Reese,” McG told Cover Media at the London premiere of the film. “The film mixes a lot of tone – it’s an action picture and there’s a lot of comedy and there’s a lot of romance – and it’s all over the place and to make that satisfying in the end it required the deft touch of the three actors. And dare I say a fourth actor, Chelsea Handler, who is out of her mind.”
As part of her US promotional tour for This Means War, Reese will be appearing on Live With Kelly on Monday February 13th. Check your local listings for times.
We’ll do our best to bring you the video and screencaptures asap after the show has aired!
Below are another couple of videos with footage and interviews from the London premiere of This Means War, the first one of which has brief footage from inside the premiere, showing Reese, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and director McG inside the cinema presenting the film on stage:
You’ve already heard actress Reese Witherspoon heap praise upon “Water for Elephants” co-star Robert Pattinson, so it seems only fitting she move on to another squee-inducing celebrity: Justin Bieber.
During tonight’s MTV First: This Means War (airing on MTV at 7:56 p.m. ET followed by a 30-minute interview on MTV.com), the topic of the “Baby” singer’s rumored “Fear” remake came up, and as far as we can tell, Reese has no trepidations about the Biebs tackling her 1997 drama.
“Oh, really?” she asked, apparently hearing the news for the first time. “Fine, great. That’d be cool. Would he be playing me, or is he playing Mark Wahlberg? Is it like a girl who harasses the family, like a stalker who can’t leave him alone? That would be good, right? I mean girls get crazy about him. Yeah, he’s very talented.”
We hadn’t thought of the role reversal before, but dang-it, Reese, if you haven’t hit on a good thing there. We smell a producer credit, for sure.
In addition to her successes as an actress and her respectable reputation, Reese Witherspoon is the envy of millions of Twilighters after working alongside superstar heartthrob Robert Pattinson in not one, but two films — not to mention the fact that she’s kissed him too.
When MTV News caught up with Witherspoon recently as part of “MTV First: This Means War,” we asked her the first thing that comes to mind when she thinks of her “Water for Elephants” and “Vanity Fair” co-star.
“I would say [he is] the hardest-working person I’ve ever worked with, honestly,” she said. “[He's] professional, hard-working, so appreciative, more grateful than I’ve ever seen anyone for where he is in life.”
Given the fact that Witherspoon has been in the business for decades and experienced every facet of being famous, we asked her to weigh in on the current fan frenzy that surrounds Pattinson wherever he goes and how it may or may not affect a person.
