Jean Dujardin, Berenice Bejo and cast of “The Artist” have been receiving rave reviews and awards nods for their black and white silent film, but a certain furry, four-legged actor keeps stealing the show – Uggie the Dog!
While Hollywood stars and audiences alike have fallen in love with the pup, Uggie only has eyes for one blond beauty.
“He likes Reese Witherspoon,” dog trainer/Uggie’s owner Owen Van Muller revealed to Billy Bush and Kit hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “They worked together [in ‘Water for Elephants’] and he just wanted to kiss her every time. He’s in love with Reese.” Owen rescued Uggie – a Jack Russell Terrier – when he was just “8 or 9 months old,” and the pup’s talent became evident very quickly.
“When did you know he had star potential?” Kit asked.
“Pretty soon after I got him because he was very, very smart, paid a lot of attention, loved to train, loved to work,” Owen answered.
Despite Uggie’s growing fan base, Owen said “The Artist” was the pup’s final feature film.
“He’s pretty much retired. He’s almost 10 years old and I really don’t want to put him through long hours anymore,” Owen said. “We were working 12, 15 hours a day in ‘The Artist.’”
Adding, “Maybe little things here and there, a couple of hours or something, would be fine, because he actually loves doing this work, but no more long hours.”

In addition to her successes as an actress and her respectable reputation, Reese Witherspoon is the envy of millions of Twilighters after working alongside superstar heartthrob Robert Pattinson in not one, but two films — not to mention the fact that she’s kissed him too.
When MTV News caught up with Witherspoon recently as part of “MTV First: This Means War,” we asked her the first thing that comes to mind when she thinks of her “Water for Elephants” and “Vanity Fair” co-star.
“I would say [he is] the hardest-working person I’ve ever worked with, honestly,” she said. “[He's] professional, hard-working, so appreciative, more grateful than I’ve ever seen anyone for where he is in life.”
Given the fact that Witherspoon has been in the business for decades and experienced every facet of being famous, we asked her to weigh in on the current fan frenzy that surrounds Pattinson wherever he goes and how it may or may not affect a person.

Water For Elephants
Starring Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon, escape to a world of forbidden love, danger and intrigue for a great night in this autumn with Water for Elephants (2011) released on Blu-ray Triple Play on 5th September from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Water for Elephants tells the powerful and emotional story of two people who fall in love against all odds, set in the alluring and enigmatic world of a travelling circus.
Heartthrob Pattinson (Twilight) stars as Jacob, a penniless and recently-orphaned veterinary school student, who parlays his expertise with animals into a job with a second-rate travelling circus. Jacob falls in love with the star performer and Circus owner’s wife Marlena, played by Academy Award winner Witherspoon (Walk The Line). Against all odds – including the wrath of Marlena’s husband August, the charismatic but unbalanced circus ringmaster portrayed by Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) – Jacob saves Marlena from an unhappy life and they find lifelong love, amidst the world of the Big Top.
Based on the international best-selling novel by Sara Gruen (#1New York Times) and directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend), the Blu-ray Triple Play is packed with special features including deleted scenes, featurettes and a Robert Pattinson Spotlight.

Continuing our massive Water For Elephants promotion catch-up (make sure you don’t miss our first huge update below!), I’ve now started to work on the remaining public appearance photos.
I’ve added another 50+ gorgeous HQs from the Water For Elephants press conference – these are a real treat! Over to Paris, and we have 20+ additional HQs from the premiere held there. From the Spanish events, we have 40-odd more HQs from the Barcelona premiere, plus I’ve finally added photos from the press conference held in that city the day after the premiere. I’ve also added photos from the two events held in Sydney – a fun-looking photocall with Tai the elephant, and a red carpet premiere. Reese looked casually cute at the Sydney photocall, but she really turned on the glitz for the premiere, looking stunning in a little blue dress and gorgeous curly hair – I love this look on her! It’s probably my favourite of the Water For Elephants promotion, alongside the New York premiere.
Speaking of the New York premiere, I’m still sorting through photos from that and the London premiere, as there are more photos from them both than you would believe! I’m hoping to get them added slowly over the next week, so keep an eye on the Gallery for them.
Photos from the most recent events Reese has attended are coming tomorrow/Monday…

Finally, an update, I hear you say! To try to stop being the world’s worst webmaster, I have some massive updates for you featuring all the remaining photos from the Water For Elephants promotion a couple of months ago.
Part 1 of the massive update is full of photoshoots, magazine scans, and tv appearance screencaptures. First up we have additional photos from the shoot Reese did for the LA Times earlier this year. We have over 100 new magazine scans/clippings for you to browse through, most of which are thanks to Mirik. Big thanks goes to our friend Mia for gorgeous scans from a recent issue of Madame Figaro which featured a new photoshoot image of Miss Reese. I’ve also added images from Reese’s Vogue cover spread.
In the TV Appearances section we now have screencaps from all of Reese’s Water For Elephants tv interviews – the new additions are from Conan, Ellen, Le Grand Journal and The Graham Norton Show. Reese looked so beautiful on each show (particularly Conan, I think!) and was her usual funny and animated self, so there are lots of super-fun expressions in there. I’ve also added HQ stills from the Ellen and Graham Norton appearances.
This makes close to 2,000 new photos, so you have a lot of beautiful Reese to browse!! Catch-up appearance photos are on the way … Oh, and maybe something else a little bit special

To date, the Johnny Depp-Penélope Cruz vehicle Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is the biggest worldwide box-office hit of 2011, having grossed $623.71m. In North America, the top movie is Fast Five, the fifth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, which has scored $196.02m. Rio, Thor, and The Hangover Part II have also performed remarkably well.
As I mentioned in a previous post, apart from two late 2010 releases, Oscar winners The King’s Speech and Black Swan, 2011 moviegoers continue to ignore dramas about human relationships. At no. 20, Francis Lawrence’s Water for Elephants, starring Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson, and Christoph Waltz is the sole drama — outside the action/thriller/horror genres — among the year’s top 25 releases.
In North America, Water for Elephants has taken in $54.4m after five weeks. Internationally, the $38m-budgeted circus drama has just passed the $50m milestone after adding $3.7m this weekend as per The Hollywood Reporter. Total to date: $50.7m. Water for Elephants has thus passed the $100m milestone, cuming at $105.1m worldwide.
As of May 22, Water for Elephants’ top overseas markets were: Australia with $6.85m, Germany with $5.75m, France with $5.39m, the United Kingdom with $5.19m, and Mexico with $2.73m. The film also earned more than $1m in Brazil (up to May 15), Italy (despite a slow start), Russia/CIS, Spain, and Sweden.
For comparison’s sake: Reese Witherspoon’s previous star vehicle, James L. Brooks’ $120m comedy How Do You Know, collected only $30m in the US/Canada and $17.49m internationally earlier this year. Its top foreign markets were Germany ($3.11m), Australia ($2.73m), and Spain ($1.62m).
Robert Pattinson’s previous non-Twilight Saga vehicle, the romantic drama Remember Me, went on to gross $19m in North America and $36.96m internationally in 2010. Remember Me’s top international markets were the United Kingdom/Ireland ($5.49m), France ($3.53m), and Russia/CIS ($3.48m).

As posted about last night, Reese attended the Barcelona premiere of Water For Elephants. I’ve now added lots more photos, most of which are in HQ! I’m also posting a bunch of videos from the event, which you can view further down this post.
Pics from today’s press conference coming up in a little while, or tomorrow, depending on time.
