Reese Witherspoon’s son wanted to kill things after watching her new movie.

The blonde actress was amazed when a trip to see Monsters vs Aliens – in which she voices the character of Susan, a woman who swells to 42 ft 11 ins tall and then helps save the planet from an alien invasion – brought out Deacon’s violent tendencies.

Reese – who has nine-year-old daughter Ava and five-year-old son Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – told BANG Showbiz: “I took my kids to see it a couple of week’s ago. As I was driving home from the theater I said to my children in the back seat, ‘So, what do you think is the message in this movie?’ My daughter really thoughtfully said, ‘I think it’s about never letting someone underestimate you and always living up to your true potential.’ I said, ‘That is so astute, yes, Ava, that is exactly what the message is.’

Reese Witherspoon could soon be seen high-kicking her way through an action film.

The Legally Blonde star – who has so far stuck mainly to the romantic comedy and drama genres – is voicing the part of Ginormica, a superhero/monster in new 3D animation Monsters Vs Aliens, and it’s made her think about doing something similar in real-life.

“It might be fun, it actually has gotten me excited. I have never been in an action film before so the last third of this movie is so action-packed, it made me very excited. I think maybe I could do that,” she said.

And the Monsters vs. Aliens European press wagon continues. Today Reese stopped by London for the UK premiere of the movie which was held at the Vue cinema in London’s West End. She dawned a black Prada dress, which accentuated shoulder detail, and a pair of five-inch heels with thick tights to brave the cold. On the blue carpet Reese described her character as a “sweet girl”. “She has to be responsible for herself and save herself and save the world,” she added.

Earlier today Reese attended the photocall for Monsters vs. Aliens in Berlin, Germany. She looked really pretty and classy, as usual.

Monsters vs. Aliens makes it’s way to theatres in a few weeks (March 27th) and there have been several updates including new stills, posters and new trailers and clips. Reese is lending her voice to Susan Murphy aka Ginormica in the movie.

‘islander90′ has informed ComingSoon.net that during a football game on NBC, it was mentioned there would be a 3D trailer for DreamWorks’ next animated movie Monsters vs. Aliens shown during the Super Bowl telecast on February 1, as well as during a special 3D episode of NBC’s Chuck to follow later in the month. Viewers would need to pick up special glasses to be able to watch the commercial in 3D.

They later found this interesting tidbit about how the 3D episode of Chuck came about which seems to confirm the plans for a 3D event during the Super Bowl this year:

"And last week I saw Cameron Diaz at Fred Segal, and I talked her out of buying this truly heinous angora sweater. Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed."
