Reese made a live appearance on Good Morning America today, where she talked about her new movie Mud, and spoke openly about her recent arrest. USA Today reported on the interview in the article below, and the video is online now too:
Reese speaks about arrest: ‘One of those nights’
The actress spoke about the arrest for the first time on ‘GMA.’
Reese Witherspoon sat down with George Stephanopoulos for a live, Good Morning America interview Thursday, her first since her April 19 arrest in Atlanta. Her husband, Jim Toth, was charged with DUI. She was charged with disorderly conduct.
Getting right to the news, George asked the actress what happened.
“It’s one of those nights,” said Reese, 37. “We went out to dinner in Atlanta, had one too many glasses of wine. We thought we were fine to drive and we absolutely were not. And it’s just completely unacceptable. And we are so sorry and embarrassed. And we know better.”
Matt Damon hijacked the Jimmy Kimmel Live chat show last night, tied Jimmy to a chair, and welcomed several A-list celebrities to his couch … including Reese! Nicole Kidman was the first to join Matt on his couch, and was then followed by Gary Oldman, Amy Adams, Reese, and then Demi Moore. Watch the hilarious introduction and celebrity segments below…! Screencaps will be added soon.
The first trailer for Mud was released earlier this week! The movie looks more intense that I had expected, and I think it’s going to be a really interesting film. Reese certainly seems to have a good part.
Along with the trailer comes a release date for the US – April 26th – and an official website – mud-themovie.com.
Watch the trailer below, and find screencaptures from it in our Gallery.
Reese is one of the several celebrities who have joined together to make a PSA demanding new legislation to provide better gun control in America. Watch the PSA below, and check out the official website for more information.
A group of artists joined our effort to Demand A Plan and recorded a powerful, personal message. Please take a minute to watch the video and share it with your friends and family.
First off, Happy New Year to all our visitors!! I hope 2013 brings you lots of great things
Reese made a very funny appearance on the Christmas Day episode of the Chelsea Lately Show, with the two friends talking about Reese’s new son, and the possibility of Chelsea babysitting for Reese. Reese then tested Chelsea’s ability to look after a baby! It was a very funny interview – I always love Reese’s interviews with Chelsea because the conversation feels like two friends chatting together on television, and I think we see more of the real Reese than we do elsewhere.
Watch the interview below (I hope it will work for everyone!), and find HD screencaptures from it in our Gallery:
A couple of months ago Reese made a quick appearance in the ‘Tea Time with Sophia Grace & Rosie’ feature on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Reese played along with the fun, and even got to put a ballerina tutu and tiara on – adorable! The segment is so funny and sweet – give it a watch below, and find screencaptures in our Gallery
(September 12th) Plus, it’s the two most adorable girls in daytime television in their very own segment! SOPHIA GRACE & ROSIE are inviting some of the biggest stars in Hollywood over for tea! They’re kicking off our brand new segment on their very own set with the uncompromisingly charming REESE WITHERSPOON! It’s the first ever “Tea Time with Sophia Grace & Rosie!”
She’s the mom of an 8-year-old herself, so Reese had no problem connecting with our two pint-sized hosts. See what the A-lister had to talk to them about over tea!
Reese Witherspoon and Alexander Payne: A Starry, Starry Night in Chicago
It was certainly a starry night in Chicago on June 23 when three major cinematic forces came together for a brilliant evening of food and film. Nestled in the back of the Ritz Carlton, Academy Award-winning director and screenwriter Alexander Payne moderated an intimate post-dinner Q&A with Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon at the annual Gene Siskel Film Center benefit, which also honored Ms. Witherspoon with the Gene Siskel Film Center’s Renaissance Award.
While Witherspoon and Payne are clearly powerhouses of modern cinema, The Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute has been a guiding light of film programming for 40 years, “presenting independent and international cinema, film festivals, cutting edge programs, premieres, retrospectives and classic films. Recognized internationally for its original film programming, the Film Center annually presents approximately 1,500 screenings and 100 guest artist appearances to more than 80,000 film enthusiasts.” Proceeds from the benefit will support the Gene Siskel Film Center’s programs, including lecture series and discussions with visiting scholars and filmmakers.
Early in the evening, current programming director of the Gene Siskel Film Center, Barbara Scharres, was highlighted for her tremendous accomplishments in eclectic, meaningful and visionary programming. Later, Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow congratulated Reese in a playful video that played before a packed room of Gene Siskel Film Center supporters. The evening concluded with the president of the School of the Art Institute, Walter Massey, and Chairman of the GSFC Advisory Board, Ellen Sandor, presenting Ms. Witherspoon with the Renaissance Award.
The excellent Cannes Film Festival official website have posted their videos from today’s Mud photocall, press conference and premiere, as well as an interview with the cast and director.
