In Wild, director Jean-Marc Vallee (Dallas Buyers Club), Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Nick Hornby (An Education) bring bestselling author Cheryl Strayed’s extraordinary adventure to the screen. After years of reckless behavior, a heroin addiction and the destruction of her marriage, Strayed makes a rash decision. Haunted by memories of her mother Bobbi (Academy Award nominee Laura Dern) and with absolutely no experience, she sets out to hike more than a thousand miles on the Pacific Crest Trail all on her own. WILD powerfully reveals her terrors and pleasures as she forges ahead on a journey that maddens, strengthens, and ultimately heals her.
Reese Witherspoon gets her African “s” countries mixed up in the first trailer for “The Good Lie.”
The Oscar winner plays a tough-as-nails woman who takes in three Sudanese refugees (she asks whether they’re from Somalia or Senegal) to help them get a fresh start in the U.S.

Margaret Nagle started writing this Blacklist screenplay 10 years ago. Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and “Blind Side” EP Molly Smith are producing.

“Devil’s Knot,” which hits theaters on May 9, is the true story of the infamous West Memphis 3 murder case, in which three teens were wrongly convicted of the deaths of three children. Reese Witherspoon stars as a mother of one of the victims. “The Insider” has your first look at the film ― check out this video for the sneak peek, and tune in to “The Insider With Yahoo” for the latest in entertainment news.
West Memphis Three drama ‘Devil’s Knot’ with Reese Witherspoon sets release date Devil’s Knot, Atom Egoyan’s docudrama about the West Memphis Three, will arrive in U.S. theaters and on VOD on May 9th. Starring Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth, the movie recounts the tragic true story of three missing boys in the religious community of Memphis, Ark., and the frenzied rush to justice that condemned three teenagers to prison for a horrific crime. The West Memphis Three — Damien Echols, Jesse Misskelley Jr., and Jason Baldwin — were convicted in 1994 of murdering the three boys, in part because of hyped suspicions that the trio were satanists. Doubts about the three men’s guilt were widespread, though, and their plight became a cause célèbre that resulted in several documentaries that shed new light on the case.
In the film, Witherspoon plays the mother of one of the victims, but her anguish gives way to doubts as community fears and hysteria gain momentum leading up to the trial. Firth plays Ron Lax, the private investigator who becomes suspicious of the community’s rush to judgment and pokes holes in the evidence used to convict the teenagers.
It’s been a while since a proper update here, due to my busy few months, so it’s time to play catch-up! First up: some news on Reese’s upcoming drama movie Devil’s Knot. The first trailer for the movie was released in late November, and you can watch it below. We also have a new official poster for the film – previewed to the left, and in full-size in the Gallery.
As for a US release date, it is going to be in the 2nd quarter of 2014, according to the article posted below. That would be an April/May/June date, I guess. A Canadian poster – also in the Gallery – lists the films release date there as January 24th. IMDB list a few other international release dates here.
I’m looking forward to seeing more about this movie in the coming months!
Reese made a live appearance on Good Morning America today, where she talked about her new movie Mud, and spoke openly about her recent arrest. USA Today reported on the interview in the article below, and the video is online now too:

Reese Witherspoon sat down with George Stephanopoulos for a live, Good Morning America interview Thursday, her first since her April 19 arrest in Atlanta. Her husband, Jim Toth, was charged with DUI. She was charged with disorderly conduct.
Getting right to the news, George asked the actress what happened.
“It’s one of those nights,” said Reese, 37. “We went out to dinner in Atlanta, had one too many glasses of wine. We thought we were fine to drive and we absolutely were not. And it’s just completely unacceptable. And we are so sorry and embarrassed. And we know better.”
Matt Damon hijacked the Jimmy Kimmel Live chat show last night, tied Jimmy to a chair, and welcomed several A-list celebrities to his couch … including Reese! Screencaps will be added soon.
The first trailer for Mud was released earlier this week! The movie looks more intense that I had expected, and I think it’s going to be a really interesting film. Reese certainly seems to have a good part.
