Avon Empowerment products and programs in more than 50 countries have raised more than $30 million to end violence against women
Even as women and men around the world celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day on March 8th, violence against women remains a global epidemic. The domestic violence statistics for just one ordinary day in the United States are staggering: on average, three women will be murdered by an intimate partner i, more than 70,000 domestic violence victims will receive services from domestic violence programs and another 10,000 will be turned away for lack of resources, and domestic violence hotlines will receive more than 22,000 calls. Around the world, the statistics are equally horrific: one in three women will be raped, beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused in her lifetime.ii
“Although the problem may seem insurmountable, there are ways for women and men everywhere to help bring an end to violence against women across the globe,” said Reese Witherspoon, Avon Global Ambassador and Honorary Chair of the Avon Foundation for Women. “The Avon Empowerment Bracelet is a simple, but powerful, way to raise funds to reduce violence against women. As a woman and as a mother, I urge you to join me on this very special anniversary of International Women’s Day to end this epidemic by wearing and giving the bracelet to friends and family.”
The new bracelet, part of the Avon Women’s Empowerment product collection, is accessibly priced at just $10.00 each. One hundred percent of net profits ($8.04 for each bracelet sold) will benefit Avon Foundation for Women programs dedicated to ending violence against women. The new bracelet features assorted faux-stone, glass and silvertone beads with an “infinity” charm on a stretch bracelet, representing the unlimited opportunities for women when they live violence-free lives. The Empowerment products are available through Avon Sales Representatives in more than 50 countries by calling 1-800-FOR-AVON or by visiting www.avon.com.

Reese Witherspoon has revealed that she keeps spare make-up supplies in her car, house and handbag.
The actress said that she can’t stand to be without her war-paint and told Glamour magazine that she tries to make sure that she can always get her hands on her foundation and mascara.
‘I have a bunch of different make-up bags – one in my car, one in my handbag and one at home,’ she confessed.
‘I try to keep them small, but I have about five lip glosses, mascara, cover-up, lipstick and blush.’
The 34-year-old added that she has started paying more attention to her skin care now that she is getting older.
‘I’ve always used moisturiser and SPF, but as you get older you really have to take care of your skin – you must take off your make-up and put on your moisturiser,’ she said.
Watch this exclusive behind the scenes footage as Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon get close and dance the night away in their new film, “Water For Elephants,” which hits theaters on April 22.
Further down this post is a video of the segment for this feature that aired on Access Hollywood on TV (as opposed to an online feature). Same stuff, just more talking from the presenters and clips from the trailers added in

Whilst browsing some Avon sites I came across a ton of Avon videos that I don’t think/can’t remember if have been posted here. So, here are a whole batch I don’t remember seeing yet:
REESE Witherspoon says it was a “nightmare” having to ride a horse in her new movie Water for Elephants.
The actress admits wearing tights while on the animal hurt her legs!
“I trained to ride an elephant for about three months before filming but I was always wearing jeans,” says Reese.
“So when I showed up on set and I actually had to get up there in tights I was like ‘Ouch!’ My legs felt like they were getting stabbed by little needles. It was a nightmare.”
Reese recently talked about working with Robert Pattinson on Water for Elephants.
I am so lucky. He’s so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup,” she revealed. “I mean, he’s just so good looking and he’s a really nice person.
“We’ll probably just laugh the whole time, because all we do is just laugh and joke around.”
