Voice Work

Monsters vs. Aliens (2009)
Reese Witherspoon will voice Susan Murphy aka Ginormica in the upcoming Monsters vs. Aliens movie, directed by Rob Letterman (Shark Tale) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2), two very experienced DreamWorks team members. The film hits theaters on March 27, 2009. Susan Murphy is a modern-day California girl who has the bad luck to be hit by a meteor on her wedding day and grows to be 49 feet, 11½ inches tall. Captured by the military, she's renamed Ginormica.

"I got very inspired when the studio showed me storyboards," says the 5-foot-2 Reese. "Playing a larger-than-life woman has given me my own opportunity to make tall jokes." She also is no stranger to cinematic cheese. "My father was a fan of Roger Corman movies," she says. "I watched a lot of those on late-night TV." Joining her giantess to fend off Rainn Wilson’s evil alien Gallaxhar are Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. (Hugh Laurie), the jellylike B.O.B. (Seth Rogen) and the half-ape, half-fish Missing Link (Will Arnett). Kiefer Sutherland speaks for Gen. W.R. Monger, and Stephen Colbert is the president.

Singing

Walk the Line - Soundtrack (2005)

As you might have heard, Reese sings and performs all of her songs heard in Walk the Line - there is no adlipping involved. She not only did this, but also recorded an album - the Walk the Line Soundtrack. She originally signed on to the film assuming she would not sing any of the songs by herself but ended up performing several as June Carter. It was a real challenge for the woman who has confessed that she could previously not sing a note but also had a serious stage fright. Reese practiced singing for six months and also took autoharp lessons.

Her tracks include 'Wildwood Flower', 'Jukebox Blues', 'It Aint Me Babe' and 'Jackson', other songs not on the soundtrack but briefly heard in the movie are 'Ring of Fire' and 'Time's a Wasting'. She has a fabulous voice and we warmly recommend everyone to go and buy the album! You can listen to some clips and watch footage at walkthelinemusic.com.

Be sure to grab your copy of the original motion picture soundtrack to Walk The Line on Amazon!
