Mathew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Tye Sheridan, Sam Shepard, Michael Shannon and Sarah Paulson have all signed on to star in the movie, which is being directed by Jeff Nichols.
The coming-of-age story follows a charismatic fugitive and his friendship with a 14-year old boy who helps him escape from the law in order to reunite with his soul mate.
Locals are already buzzing about the production as the movie’s offices have been set up in Stuttgart, at the former Clary Elementary building, located at 107 E. Superior St, and today, Highway 65 in Dumas was closed for filming.
“Everyone’s really excited about it, it’s been really great for the town,” said Stephen Bell, director of the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce.
Witherspoon was even spotted shopping at the Dollar General in Dumas this week!
The movie is expected to continue filming in Arkansas through next month. If you are interested in being an extra in the film, you can apply here. If you spot Mud filming in Arkansas, let us know about it at firstname.lastname@example.org!

It’s been a few weeks since our last movie screencap update, but I am back today with caps from the Little Nicky DVD extras! I haven’t seen the film itself yet, but from what I’ve seen from these extras, it looks to be … bizarre! However, Reese looks totally adorable as angel Holly – she reminds me a bit of Elle Woods, only bitchy!
The DVD had some pretty good extras, although sadly Reese was not featured much in them, besides a couple of cute deleted scenes and a few shots in a ‘making-of’ style featurette. Reese looks gorgeous in this film, against the uber-pretty ‘heaven’/birthday cake backdrop. So enjoy the 100+ screencaps (and check back this week for caps from the movie itself)…!

Poor Reese! We hope she makes a speedy recovery and is back to her best in no time. These articles state that the accident was minor, and that she’s already at home resting, so there’s no need for real worry.
Reese Witherspooon is resting at home after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday while she was on a run.
Captain Judah Mitchell of the Santa Monica Police Department told Access Hollywood that the actress was hit by a car while jogging in the beachside town near Los Angeles.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 11 AM at the intersection of 20th Street and Georgina Avenue, when an 84-year-old female resident of Santa Monica struck the actress.
Reese “suffered minor injuries” from the accident.
Following the incident, she was taken to a local hospital, Capt. Mitchell confirmed to Access.
The unidentified driver was interviewed on the scene and released. She was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
A rep for the actress released a statement to Access noting the actress was “not seriously injured” during the incident. The spokesperson’s statement also noted that Reese is now “resting comfortably at home.”
This is a nice surprise for Reese fans – Reese is gracing the cover of the new October issue of US Marie Claire! Looking gorgeous doing so, of course. The magazine features a new photoshoot and interview, which talks about her recent work for Avon and her marriage. The magazine hits newstands in North America on September 20th (just under 2 weeks from now), so pick up a copy if you can!
MarieClaire.com have posted the article and photos at their site, and you can view them there, or read the article further down this post and find the pics in our Gallery. Scroll down this post for a behind the scenes video from the new photoshoot.
EDIT: Screencaps from the behind the scenes video have now been added to the Gallery! Thanks to Marica for grabbing the vid for us.
“None of this would have happened if Mr. McAllister hadn’t meddled the way he did. He should have just accepted things as they are instead of trying to interfere with destiny. You see, you can’t interfere with destiny. That’s why it’s destiny. And if you try to interfere, the same thing’s going to happen anyway, and you’ll just suffer.”
Many Reese fans will recognise those sharp words as spoken from the mouth of the oh-so-slightly determined and ambitious Tracy Flick, one of the protagonists in Election, and today I have added over 1,000 screencaps from that film! We also have caps from the DVD Menu’s, but sadly my DVD does not have any extras. To say Reese is brilliant in this film is an understatement … she gives an incredible and hilarious tour-de-force performance as the driven high school student. The film itself is so smart and well written, it’s a real gem. Definitely one of my all-time favourite Reese performances and movies.
I capped it whilst listening to director Alexander Payne’s commentary, and so updated the Trivia on our Election filmography page along the way. Obviously that page is still a work in progress but there’s some interesting tidbits there to start you off with.
Post a comment/send me a tweet/email if you want to see caps from a particular movie re-added next!

I seem to be on a DVD extras screencaps roll, and so today’s update is screencaps from the Best Laid Plans extras! This DVD also had some pretty good extras, with lots of deleted scenes and a short but nice featurette with cast interviews. Best Laid Plans is one of my favourite Reese movies, and one that I think is over-looked in her career. It was a tense little film, with lots of twists and turns. It also kind of marks the end of Reese’s edgy 90′s movies run, as she broke into more Hollywood roles soon after.
450+ caps can now be viewed in our Gallery, and caps from the movie will be up soon.
I have my Freeway DVD sitting in front of me now, so you can probably expect some caps from that over the weekend
